That is one cute little fellow... the painting is all about legs, isn't it... equine and human. Both have splendid examples of their respective forms... bravo Gros!
Men during this time would put pants on wet so as they dried they would form to there legs. During the 18th century and first half of the nineteen century the shape of a mans legs were more important then his face. In this case he has a handsome face and legs. Thanks for your comment!
